Vision And Faith
Have you ever been driving and the sun was just low enough to really cloud your vision? That is exactly what happens when I am lacking faith…my vision becomes cloudy or blurred.
It is similar to the image here. There are a few great blue herons in this image, however, my vision is to compromised to see them clearly.
You can’t let the lack of faith jack your vision. What if it wasn’t herons, but a car, train or avoidable situation?
Sewer Fed Trees
I created this image based on the sign that said something about the trees being watered by sewer water and that you shouldn’t drink that water.
The Deschutes River
Over this past weekend, my family and I went camping…like the majority of Oregonians. We went to a spot that can be so beautiful at times up in the Cascades. I took a couple shots one evening with my point-and-shoot camera and have attached it here. I did a little bit of adjustments in Apple’s Aperture and thought I would share them as an Aperture preset you can use. More after the break…
What’s wrong with this picture
July Fourth we were down at the river and there was a large cottonwood tree washed up on shore. I rattled of a bunch of shots and… Read more
Why Apple needs to change
I found an excellent article, having the same opinion as I, on tablets and Apple’s lack.
Check it out…
Apple’s new products
I came across this info over at Engadget. Apple changing its line a little.
BandX
So, last night I met with some cool guys. We had a great time, each of us, creating something from with in us and expressing that through instruments and voice. They created musical tapestries that charged the air with a feeling, an emotion within my spirit that burst(belted) forth in song…Rock and Roll.
Creativity is an awesome thing! I hope it takes…It could be good thing…Just Sayin’
Tascam Portastudio on iPad

My very first venture into recording began with my Tascam back in 1990. I love that sucker. Now you can get the Tascam Portastudio on the iPad. This could be useful if they ever made an iPad with a USB port… JUST SAYING.

Autolux
So my wife said I should check out this band she thought I would like. We watched Supertoys on youtube then I searched the right bar for some more nuggets. I found the following one and want to say, I think they are Shwamzangle. Love the urban cinematography. I will be checking out a lot more of them and you can get yourself some love after the jump… Read more
Pro Tools 9 is out
Pro Tools has come out with version 9. The main news here is that ANY AUDIO INTERFACE works with it. The upgrade price is $249 bones. I am not sure that it has enough to get me to leave Logic Pro and Mainstage, or even consider it as another tool…Avid is still skimp’n on features so you have to buy the HD stuff.
More info can be found here at Sweetwater.
Creep and Power
I laid down a track tonight. It was…hmm…well, it was a mood I was in and I wanted it to be captured on tape (Logic Pro). I need to work on it…stew on it a bit and see what we can build, if anything. Why….. I am most certain it could be powerful…in a “different” sort of way. Music after the jump… Read more
Paddling up river is NOT a joy…
…in a wide fishing kayak. That was tough (never thought I could do it)…paddled to Gazeebo Island today…up river.
Next time I need to Bing the poles…there are big trout jumping all over.

Kayak Fishing

Coastal Waters
My son and I took a trip to Newport, Oregon today. Here a few shots from the day. I was very amazed at how quickly our time flew by. From this trip I have learned the difference between shooting with a point and shoot…and using a Canon 7D. I like the dSLR myself…what do you think?
How to shoot fireworks
I thought it to be a good idea to repost this “how to shoot fireworks” post from last year.
How to unscramble DVD chapters on your DVD backups
So if you have ever used Handbrake to back up your DVD collection, you really want to read this. This post helped me with one of the most frustrating issues of backup…the chapters being scrambled on the backup.
This post Here, tells how to overcome it. Just make sure you log in to see all the example screenshots.
Towers Of Love
My dog was running through very tall grass. I wondered what it must be like to him, getting hit in the face by it all. I got down to see what he sees and took this…
Seeds Of The valley

I was supposed to have band practice the other night. It turned out that everyone cancelled on me. So I went fishing. I needed the relaxation. At one point I could only focus on capturing images with my phone. This is one of them. This area of the valley is the grass seed capital of the world.
Band Practice
Wednesday night we had band practice, just like any other wed. This time we actually started working on an original.
Jon had a song on guitar and we all went over it a few times. We recorded the whole night and then recorded just the main guitar to put online so we could practice and come up with parts for next practice.
All in all, it was a good time…nice to be playing music again outside the walls. :0)

Migrating from Lightroom to Aperture 3
So I have decided to switch to Aperture 3 for all my imaging library and adjustment needs (those not requiring “deep” editing in Photoshop). There seems to be a lot of debate over this kind of thing. There are a lot of irrational claims to fames and all sorts of jim crackery, however, I went with what makes my workflow not only fun, but easier and faster. I will begin with some issues I had with Lightroom, then things I like about Aperture and finally on to the HOW. Take the jump to find out more… Read more
