A shopping cart option for photographers

Photography No Comments

I have searched and searched for a viable way to sell images on my website but have yet to come up with anything promising. It seems that unless you want to fork out the dough to someone else, there is not much out there.

I use Rapidweaver , which I absolutely love, for my CMS and web design and would really like something that works within this system. I tend to want to do things myself and want to be able to change things as I choose. I am not afraid to open something and tear it apart to create something that will work for me. The problem is that there really isn’t any good plugins for the photographer. Well, I guess I should say that there are no good photographer plugins that allow you to sell your art.

So far, to sell your work, I have found that I must create carts in Paypal, then copy/paste the code to where I want the options and button to be. This is very time consuming. I want my images to display beautifully, but have the option to buy right there. Payloom offers only two options, which will not work with selling images. that would mean selling a 16×20 and 24×36 only.

I think the only option is to program my own and that feels daunting!
