My Recorded Example Notes

Today- I sat down one day to make a song and this is the intro of that song.

- This is the main acoustic guitar track from a production I am currently working on. percussive!

The Emerald Sea- There was a time when I sat on the shore and looked out down our beautiful Oregon coastline. I was overtaken by the vast beauty of this emerald sea. As I reflected on those thoughts and emotions these sounds came from my hands.

Summer Breeze (spontaneous Song)

- The day I received my Kiowa Love Flute from Erik the flute maker, I sat down, opened the package. I played this song inspired by the breeze that summer morning.

Joy On The Eve of Battle (spontaneous Song)

- Interestingly enough, I picture a valley opened up below me as far as the eye can see. There are fiery colors all about the dusk sky as the sun sets. In the valley are two armies of old in their camps. There are campfires spotted here and there, glowing in the valley’s monochrome haze. Minds scheming and strategizing for the morning. There I was with Joy On The Eve of Battle knowing the outcome before it begins because of whom I serve… The King of Kings who reigns and “rains”. See Blog for more.

- This song was written for my late uncle. He really was a great man that was a father to many of us boys in the family.

- Sometimes we have them, sometimes we don’t. I tend to have them often and decided to put it to music. Kind of electronic.  This song was written when I was trying to figure myself out. I came to the conclusion that I am a mystery to myself. I think we are all a mystery to ourselves. Once I posted the song, I began thinking more about it and wanted to create a visual. I created an image. It was in the woods and it was foggy. I was on a path and there was an ancient looking door ahead. It was a red door. It is interesting that we must open and enter through The Red Door. There is no other way. I felt like I had to open it. What was on the other side. Would I be cast into Narnia? Where did it lead, so out of place there before me? Through it and behind it lies The Answer. (picture)

My Live Examples Notes

Waiting For The Rain - I’m not sure who this came from, but it sounds like a bootleg recording of a benefit concert. The electric guitar is missing so I assume the recording was taken on the opposite side of the stage as the guitar.

The Journey - A journey down a dusty road through the countryside in the days of old.*

Fire Falling - As the river rises and the fire begins to fall, we must put away things of this world and truly move towards our spiritual call.

Warm Blanket - Let the Spirit come and cover you like a warm blanket on a winter morning.

Beautiful (spontaneous song)

- This piece is a spontaneous song that came under an incredible atmosphere of His presence in the room. There was a long stretch of silence after this where all were in a state of awe of  Him, face down. -Electric Guitar – Matt Riopelle
